What can I earn as a Birchwood Care Services worker 

Birchwood Care Services is proud to offer the best rates of pay locally as well as a sign-on bonus and other benefits. Our care staff can earn an hourly rate from £12 to £14.25. 

What will be expected of me as a care worker? 

At Birchwood, we always treat our clients as we would like to be treated. Our staff are enthusiastic and passionate about caring and supporting others to continue to remain at home and enjoy life independently. 

An example tea/pm shift for care staff includes: 

  • Preparing tea/supper and hot drinks for clients 
  • Helping clients with getting ready for or into bed 
  • Helping clients with personal care if required 
  • Helping with medication needs if necessary 
  • Ensuring that the client is comfortable and well cared for and that they have everything to hand they need for the evening through until the following morning 

Do I need a DBS check to work at Birchwood Care Services? 

Yes. Birchwood Care Services will pay for your DBS check if you do not already have one. 

Do I need my own car? 

A means of transport and a full driving licence are essential in some roles and desirable in others. However, not all of our team need to be drivers, and it’s dependent on the role (we will always specify either way). 

If you do drive and use your own transport you will receive a generous mileage allowance, in addition to the hourly rate. 

What benefits does Birchwood Care Services offer?

I haven’t got any care experience. Can I still apply? 

Yes. While we value staff who have previous care experience, we’re also happy to train those who don’t have the experience but are enthusiastic and passionate about caring and supporting others to continue to remain at home and enjoy life independently.
